About

I'm Rumman. I build Firmpoint.

Full time, from London.

I'm not a construction guy. My dad is. He's senior at a construction firm in the Gulf, and most of what I know about how a site office buys came from him first.

The story I kept hearing was always the same. A supplier sends a price as a photo on WhatsApp. Someone types it into Excel to compare. Then they type it again into the ERP once it's approved. Nobody there is disorganised. The paper just arrives that way.

Estimating has the same problem, only heavier. A tender lands as hundreds of sheets. Somebody has to take off every quantity and price every line, against the clock.

So Firmpoint does one job for both desks. It reads the paper you already get and shows its working for every number. Your people still decide. They just stop retyping.

Ruled out for good

  • It won't replace your ERP. It sits on top of what you run.
  • It won't touch your money. Your bank still pays.
  • It won't take anything from your suppliers. So when it shows you the cheaper quote, there's no reason to wonder why.

It started with construction, because that's the paper I knew. It's for any team that buys or prices for a living, in the UAE and the UK first. If you do that work and something here is wrong, write to me.

I read every one.
